Darren Almond, A Light Impression, 2014. [wp-fplink] A Light Impression is an embossed silk screen print on paper. Marking a temporality that occupies much of Almond’s photography, this work also highlights the artist’s interest in the interpretation and translation of memory. The work's background is printed with a grid to represent chart paper, acknowledging man’s urge to map his own place in time and space.

Fullmoon@Valley Floor was taken in Patagonia under a full moon using a long exposure, allowing a softness and delicacy to come to the surface of the photograph. Printed on subtly textured paper, this work references both Almond’s landscape photographs and his interest in archival film footage from the regions he has visited. The Fullmoon series maps the artist’s fascination with geology, myth and history and indirectly comments on the effect human intervention has on the landscape.
