André Butzer prints – “Untitled” series of 16 screenprints – Available

André Butzer, Untitled, 2011.
Butzer created his largest print project yet, in 2011. It comprehenses a series of 16 colorful screenprints. The prints can be hung individually or in groups. Each print is a variation of Butzer’s geometrical vocabulary. After years of working figuratively, with influences such as German Expressionism, Asger Jorn and also Albert Oehlen, Butzers new work focuses on geometrical shapes and lines which run like cables all across the surface, creating an abstract pattern, or, as Butzer has called his work, “Science-Fiction Expressionism”.

These prints present the viewer with Butzer’s own color theory: The vibrant colors range from a deep, warm yellow to a hot pink, a sweet, chocolate-brown contrasts Butzer’s trademark “flesh”like hue. This print project reveals the Berlin based artist as a true colorist!
