Dana Lixenberg – Winner Deutsche Börse 2017

Dana Lixenberg announced as winner of the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize 2017.

The Dutch born photographer and filmmaker Dana Lixenberg was selected as the recipient of the £30,000 prize for her bold, un-sentimentalised black and white portraits of the residents and community of the Imperial Courts housing project in Watts, Los Angeles.

The Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation prize is on show at the Photographers Gallery, London, until 11 June 2017.
The prize was awarded yesterday Thursday 18 May 2017.
The artists shortlisted for the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize 2017 were Sophie Calle, Dana Lixenberg, Awoiska van der Molen, and Taiyo Onorato and Nico Krebs.

We would like to point out the following initiative: BURMA STORYBOOK a photography and poetry book, featuring contemporary poets in Myanmar/Burma. The photographs in the book are by Lixenberg, who has traveled twice to Myanmar and taken stunning portraits of all of the poets.

Lixenberg has offered generously the following two photo prints from the Burma Storybook book in limited editions.
