Giuseppe Penone – Spazio de Luce *SOLD*

Giuseppe Penone, Spazio de Luce, 2012.   SOLD OUT

Giuseppe Penone, Spazio de Luce, 2012. Penone’s practice explores the reciprocal relationship between man and nature. He carries out performative gestures within the landscape, the results of which can be a sculptural work, photograph and/or drawings. Penone is known for his particular choice of natural materials which are organic and/or draw upon traditional craft methods.

Wood and bronze are the most common of materials used by the artist, employing the ancient Lost Wax Technique to cast his bronze sculptures. He became the youngest representative of Arte Povera; an Italian movement coined by curator Germano Celant in 1967. He was a key figure in subsequent exhibitions and publications on the concept. His work also relates to the emergence of Land Art and Conceptual art in USA and Europe.
