Luciano Fabro, The Ball, 2004
In 2004 late Italian artist Luciano Fabro created the sculpture "La Palla" ("The Ball"), which consists of a 3,5 meters shiny steel ball with a 350 meters long ribbon on which a poem of Rainer Maria Rilke is inscribed. The sculpture is placed only a few meters away from the MARTa Museum, Herford, Germany. This beautiful contemporary art museum was designed by US star architect Frank Gehry who also created the Guggenheim Bilbao building.
The MARTa offers this limited edition by Luciano Fabro, which consists of a smaller version of the sculpture and a scribble which is signed by the artist.
