Oscar Murillo - Work series "lottery" - 2017

Oscar Murillo - Work series "lottery" - 2017Haus der Kunst is grateful for Oscar Murillo's engagement with this fundraising action for the Museum and supports his concept for the lottery process. Murillo has created 100 lottery tickets each of which are a unique work of art with screen print, oil paint, ink and mixed media on newsprint. Each unique work will be signed by the artist and randomly assigned to the buyer at the discretion of the artist. The buyer will not be able to choose the piece for purchase. The price to be paid depends when the request for a lottery ticket is officially received per email at lottery

The lottery hast started on September 25, 2017 at exactly 4 pm (CET). The first winners have already received their unique piece of art. 82 lottery tickets are still available. Buyers 18-50 will l pay €5,205. Buyers 51 through 100 will pay €8,205. The 100 lottery tickets (or unique works) will be sold on a first come, first served basis. Only one buyer can purchase one lottery ticket with a request from a unique email address. Multiple requests for lottery tickets by the same buyer will not be acknowledged after the first request has been accepted. The buyer´s first and last name will be written in calligraphy on a piece of paper and framed with the lottery ticket. Each lottery ticket is a chance to win the main prize, which will be determined and randomly assigned to a lottery ticket holder by the artist at a later date.

Sarah Sze - Point for Point - 2017

Sarah Sze - Point for Point - 2017The title of the edition Point for Point was taken from Jorge Luis Borges’ On Exactitude in Science, which tells of “a map of the Empire whose size was that of the Empire, and which coincided point for point with it.” As the map in the story is neglected and left to rot, it morphs in and out of the physical landscape, leaving it in constant transition between reality and simulation.
