Daniel Arsham – Fictional Advertisements – Set of Five prints *SOLD*

Daniel Arsham - Fictional Advertisements - 2021   SOLD OUT

Daniel Arsham - Fictional Advertisements - 2021Louis Buhl & Co. presents a set of five offset prints produced on the occasion of Daniel Arsham’s recent solo exhibition Turning Wrenches at Library Street Collective. Each set includes five different offset prints featuring imagery pulled from the billboards Arsham has produced for Library Street Collective’s 2021 iteration of Public Matter, titled Fictional Advertisements.

A nod to the Detroit automotive industry and international car culture as a whole, the billboards included in the public installation present fictional vintage advertisements for Arsham’s altered and eroded car artworks. These uncanny ads invite their viewers to purchase vehicles for their own journey into the past or the future—time travel machines that can be personally owned and managed. There is a discussion at hand about the juxtaposition of eroding human-produced objects, the tenacity of geological materials that aid in efforts toward time travel, and the overall significant role time plays in the conversation.

Available as a standard edition, as well as a limited edition of 250 signed sets. The editions will be available as sets of five on a first-come, first-served basis, and individually at a future date pending availability.
