Ed Atkins has generously produced two limited edition artworks to coincide with the exhibition, Ed Atkins, 2 April – 25 August 2025, at Tate Britain.
The limited edition, Untitled, 2025, is a giant version of one of Atkins’s Post-it note drawings in red. Atkins began making Post-it note drawings for his daughter’s lunchbox for preschool, producing one, two, or more, daily during the Covid-19 pandemic. ‘Their contents, as much as can be outlined, are desirous, improvised, expedient and, I think, dreamy—allied with dreams’ says Atkins. Many of the drawings depict a scene that is closely cropped, leaving the imagination to interpret it. There is a complexity to each of them which is balanced by their provisionality and the simplicity of the materials. In Atkins’s work, what usually may be considered as an unspectacular gesture is presented as significant. The Post-it note drawings, whilst simple in form, are a testament to the site of art-making as a place of love and bonding.
These limited edition Ed Atkins prints are now available at Tate Shop.
