This limited-edition hand-tufted rug, based on Howard Hodgkin’s Red Sky in the Morning (2016), translates the vivid colors and virtuosic gestures of the renowned British artist’s painting into Ghazni wool, a material from Afghanistan known for its wide range of color variation. Fabricated by a skilled artisan who uses a tufting gun to replicate Hodgkin’s abstract design, the rug is produced by Christopher Farr, a London-based company that has been at the forefront of contemporary rug design for over three decades, in collaboration with the Howard Hodgkin Estate.
