To the Lighthouse by Zesse Seglias, which is being premiered at the Bregenz Festival this year, is producing a limited edition especially for Kunsthaus Bregenz. For Kolding, the writer Virginia Woolf plays a key role in the paradigm shift between tradition and the modern, which she symbolizes in her semblance of a Madonna-like half-figure. A photograph of the author screen-printed in black-and-white forms the basis for a free-standing, stencil-like, spatial sculpture in wood. The potential for the owner’s active participation in arranging and selecting the color of the hooded pullover, results in each copy of the limited edition being distinctive and unique.
