Jim Lambie, Boyzilian: Eighteen Tracks, 2014 Jim Lambie, Boyzilian: Eighteen Tracks, 2014

The Fruitmarket Gallery is pleased to bring you the first record from Jim Lambie’s ‘VoidoidARCHIVE’ label in a very limited release of 30 copies. With 10 tracks including Trans-Europe Boyzilian and (I can’t get no) Boyzilian, this exclusive edition has been made on the occasion of Lambie’s selected retrospective exhibition at the Gallery. Each record has been created individually with painted pop rivets applied to the vinyl surface, making each one different.

Jim Lambie (b. 1964) is one of Scotland’s foremost artists. Together with Claire Barclay and Simon Starling, he represented Scotland at the Venice Biennale in 2003 and was shortlisted for the Turner Prize in 2005. Lambie makes art from materials and objects he has to hand. As well as mirrors, vinyl records and men’s shirts, he transforms record sleeves into sculptures, and ladders and tape into installations, turning even the most commonplace objects into sources of enchantment.
