Michael Craig-Martin – Book (RA) *SOLD*

Michael Craig-Martin - Book (RA) - 2019  SOLD

Michael Craig-Martin - Book (RA) - 2019Michael Craig-Martin’s dynamic ‘open book’ composition references both his career as a hugely influential teacher at Goldsmith’s College, London, and the Royal Academy’s role as a pioneering centre for learning and debate. Carefully cropped, with its pages mid-turn, this elegant image becomes almost abstracted.

Craig-Martin’s multi-disciplinary practice encompasses large-scale painting, installation and sculpture as well as printmaking and animation. His work is characterised by its exploration, in deceptively simple forms, of everyday domestic objects such as lightbulbs, shoes, umbrellas and coffee cups. Using line drawing and a vibrant palette, Craig-Martin’s visual language is unique.

All proceeds from sales of this work go directly to support the non-profit-making areas of the Royal Academy, particularly the RA Schools.
