Otobong Nkanga - Steel to Rust – Arrested - 2017
Otobong Nkanga, Winner of the Belgian Art Prize 2017, specially produced Steel to Rust – Arrested, 2017 following her solo exhibition at Nottingham Contemporary (October 2016 – January 2017). The work stems from the newly commissioned work titled The Encounter that Took a Part of Me (2016), for which Nkanga was interested in the possibilities of contamination, decay, and the states of mutation or transition.
