Pamela Rosenkranz ‘Clearer’

Pamela Rosenkranz, Clearer, 2014

Pamela Rosenkranz, Clearer, 2014The work of Pamela Rosenkranz deals with the redistribution of what constitutes the organic and the inorganic situations in which synthetic materials may resemble bodily substances, and the body may appear more mechanical. Related to her More Core series of photograms of pharmaceutical pills that resemble eyes, for Clearer, Rosenkranz has created a series of implied portraits by scanning opals, each scan uniquely reflecting and refracting the precious stones.

Her work was included in the 2012 SculptureCenter exhibition A Disagreeable Object and she will represent Switzerland at the 56th Venice Biennale in 2015.
