New Thomas Rentmeister echting at PROVINZ

Provinz launched a new Edition by Berlin based artist Thomas Rentmeister, published in cooperation with Städtische Galerie Wolfsburg. The etching is offered in a notably small edition (25) at the pleasant price.

The etching depicts a total of 36 anti-snore nose strips and thus refers to a recent series of large-scale object-paintings by Rentmeister which consist of ornamental rows of actual nose strips ("Schnarchpflasterbilder"). With this new works, Rentmeister further displays his ability to realize minimalistic artistic tableaus in an intelligent and witty manner. The result is an astonishingly simple but beautiful composition made of a commonplace object of consumption.
