Charles Avery, We don’t stay here because of gravity we stay because we like it, 2014Charles Avery, We don't stay here because of gravity we stay because we like it, 2014

A new screenprint by Charles Avery, published by Ingleby Gallery as part of the ‘Billboard for Edinburgh’ project. Charles Avery’s new screenprint derives from the posters and billboards found in his drawings of the fictional dystopian city of Onomatopoeia part of his epic project The Islanders. The text, which in some ways feels confrontational, underlines the strange collective spirit of Avery’s fabricated colony and their island life.
