Austin Lee - Rendered Birds - 2021
Rendered Birds was created using virtual reality. I draw the birds in VR and then “photograph” them in 3D space. I often use the digital image as inspiration but this time, with the help of Pace Prints, we used a photogravure process to translate the digital image into an intaglio print.
I love birds and computers and nature and people and I don't think these have to be at odds. I am hopeful that there are solutions to environmental challenges that can make a safer world for everyone. Last year, Robin F. Williams and Pace Prints released a print to benefit the Environmental Defense Fund and I would like to continue the tradition. – Austin Lee
