James Welling, Glass House Spring, 2008/2012. SOLD OUT
Each year, a distinguished group of donors contributes directly to the enrichment of LACMA’s permanent collection through participation in the Collectors Committee. All membership money from this group goes directly to a pooled fund that gives Collectors Committee members the privilege of helping make acquisitions for the museum. This limited edition was printed by the artist and John Sisely on the occasion of LACMA's Annual Collectors Committee Weekend in 2012. Welling was born in Connecticut in 1951 and in 1971 he came to the newly-formed California Institute of the Arts in Valencia to study video. After completing degrees and working on the East Coast, in 1995 he moved to Los Angeles to head the Photography area of the Department of Art at UCLA.
