"Honey bee" (2015/22) springs from Joan Jonas' ongoing preoccupation with urgent ecological issues in the face of climate change and the extinction of endangered animal species. At the same time, the technique of pipe chess used here refers to Jonas's fundamental experimentation with drawing and forms of reflection - practices that run through her entire interdisciplinary Oeuvre.
