London-based Dutch artist Magali Reus’s interest in material as evidence of process is articulated in interlinked series of sculptures through the use of complex casting, moulding and weaving techniques, pitting the aggressive emptiness of manufacture against the slow diligence of handwork. The editions Crane 1, 2, 3 were commission to commemorate Reus’s first major institutional solo exhibition As Mist, Description, 23 March – 27 May 2018 in London, and are drawn directly from works within the exhibition.
