Rebecca Warren – Croccini *SOLD*

Rebecca Warren, Croccini, 2014.Rebecca Warren, Croccini, 2014  SOLD OUT

Croccini is a cast bronze sculpture based on one of Rebecca Warren's most recognisable unfired clay sculptures - 'Croccioni' (2000). Taking Umberto Boccioni’s 'Unique Forms of Continuity in Space' (1913) and refiguring it through the cartoonish lens of Robert Crumb, Warren transforms Boccioni’s futurist hyper-masculine figure into a pair of striding female legs with chunky platform heels, voluptuous calves and robust thighs - an exaggeration of feminine sexuality both outlandish and powerful.

Croccini has been created exclusively for Counter Editions to coincide with Warren's participation in 'The Human Factor' at the Hayward Gallery, a group show of 25 leading international artists who each focus on the figure as a means for exploring far-ranging concerns.
