Roni Horn, You are a Form of Me, 2016
The Foundation Beyeler Art Edition You are a Form of Me (2016) shows a detail from Th Rose Prblm (2015/2016), the very recent series by US artist Roni Horn. For these works on paper, Horn has cut up watercolor pictures of idiomatic English phrases and reassembled them into a total of 48 colorful new sentences with often bizarre textual meanings. The series takes up a theme that the artist explores in many of her works and which she regularly places in the artistic spotlight: the question of the mutability of identity and the difference between essence and appearance. This limited Art Edition has been created within the framework of the Roni Horn exhibition at the Fondation Beyeler (02.10.2016–01.01.2017).
